Meet our Doctors and Staff

Coastal Cardiology, P.C. includes four physicians, two physician assistants, one nurse practitioner, five registered nurses and a technical/administrative support staff of twenty-six.

Doctors

  Lana S. Skelton, M.D., F.A.C.C.

Dr. Skelton, founding physician of Coastal Cardiology, is board certified in internal medicine with a subspecialty in cardiovascular diseases. She has been practicing as a Cardiologist at Southeast Georgia Health System since 1976.

 

  Mark T. Watkins, M.D. F.A.C.C.

Dr. Watkins, a board certified cardiologist, is a graduate from the Medical College of Georgia. He completed his residency at the University of Tennessee and a cardiology fellowship at the Medical College of Georgia.

Dr. Watkins initiated a program at the Southeast Georgia Health System cardiology department to insert pacemakers in patients.


 

  Michael H. Butler, M.D. F.A.C.C.

Dr. Butler, chairman of the cardiology department at Southeast Georgia Health System, is board certified in general and interventional cardiology.

Dr. Butler, a graduate of the University of Michigan, completed his residency at Emory University and a cardiology fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.


 

  James M. Heery, M.D. F.A.C.C.

Dr. Heery, a board certified cardiologist, is a graduate from Emory University School of Medicine. He completed his residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and a cardiology fellowship at University of Utah Health Sciences Center.


 


Staff

  Jerry Rose, PA-C.

Jerry is a board certified physician assistant who has been in practice with Coastal Cardiology since 1983. Jerry is a graduate of University of West Florida and earned his PA degree from Emory University. Jerry is a member of the American College of Cardiology, American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Georgia Academy of Physician Assistants.

 

  Shannon Hemenway, APRN

Shannon Hemenway is a board certified adult nurse practitioner. She obtained her ADN and BSN from Norfolk State University and her Master’s of Science in Nursing from the University of Delaware.

 

  Olivia Neal, APRN

Olivia Neal is a board certified adult nurse practitioner. She attended the University of Georgia as an undergraduate then obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, GA. She then obtained her Master of Science in Nursing degree from UAB in Birmingham, AL
